What's on this March

It’s March and we are running lots of fun events across Rotherham.

You can find the full list of our events here.

Highlights

Days of Laughter, Days of Pain: The Miners’ Strike in Rotherham, 1984 to 1985.

This year marks 40 years since the historic miner's strike of 1984 to 1985. This was the largest industrial dispute the UK had ever seen. Rotherham and South Yorkshire were a focal point of strike activity. In this exhibition you'll hear how the strike is remembered across the borough, and explore Rotherham's archive, museum collections, and community loans related to this historic event.

The exhibition held at Clifton Park Museum is now running until Friday 5 July 2024.

Love's Complicated

Rotherham Civic Theatre has lots of exciting performances on this month, including a powerful play that explores love, disability, and choice.

Love’s Complicated follows the journey of Ian and Mandy together as they navigate the complexities of their relationship as a disabled couple, and the hopes and dreams they hold for their future. As they juggle protective parents, overbearing support staff and the judgement of others, we question the meaning of equality and the right to autonomy. Things start to get really complicated for the couple when they are faced with the ultimate dilemma.

The play will be showing at Rotherham Civic Theatre on Thursday 28 March at 7:30pm.

Book your tickets, here.

Please note that this performance contains some strong language and adult themes recommended for audiences aged 14 and over.
