Rotherham Council will share its latest plans for the £8.9m library and public space scheme in Wath town centre, at two drop-in sessions later this month.

This follows feedback from the public on improvement plans which were shared at a consultation event in Autumn 2023.

The latest plans include:

  • A new town centre focal point with a state-of-the-art library at its heart
  • New commercial spaces
  • Improvements to green spaces

The drop-in sessions will be held at Wath Library from 12.30pm to 2.30pm, and 5.15pm to 6.45pm on Thursday 21 March.

The updated plans will be available on the Council website from Friday 15th to Friday 29th March 2024 here: https://www.rotherham.gov.uk/rotherham-future

Cabinet Member for Jobs and the Local Economy, Cllr Denise Lelliott: “Wath’s future is looking bright and we want to share our planned improvements with as many people as possible so they can see what’s changing for the better.”

The scheme is being funded by a grant from the Government which was secured by the Council in Summer 2023, as a result of the Levelling Up bid that was submitted in 2022.
