Complain about a school

All complaints about schools are dealt with by schools and you should complain to your school directly.

Every state and private school in England has a complaints procedure. You should talk to your child’s school and try to resolve the problem with them first.

You must complain to your school directly before complaining to any other organisation.

You can take your complaint further once you’ve been through all the steps in the complaints procedure and you’re still not satisfied.

Further information about who you need to contact to take your complaint further can be found on the gov.uk website.
