Moving from Infant to Junior School 2025

If your child was born between 1 September 2017 and 31 August 2018 and attends Year 2 of a separate infant school, you need to apply for a Junior School place for admission in September 2025.

Click on the Apply Online link below to begin your application. You will need to register first if you do not already have an account. Alternatively, you can telephone the Admissions Team to request a paper Common Application Form.

The national closing date for receipt of applications is 15 January 2025.

Any application received after the closing date will be considered as a late application. You will be less likely to secure a place at your preferred school if your application is late.

You should only use this process to apply for a Year 3 place at a separate junior school for admission in September 2025.

We will not consider applications for admission to Year 3 of primary or junior and infant school until after 1 May 2025. If you wish to apply for a Primary or Junior and Infant School for Year 3, you should submit a separate in-year application after 1 May 2025. If your child is in Year 2 at a separate infant school, you are advised to apply for a junior school place in the meantime.

Please contact the Admissions Team for further information and advice if required. We are happy to talk through any queries you have.

If you do not live in Rotherham you should contact your local Admissions Team for further advice. This is because your local authority may have a different admissions process.

Further information can be found in Section 11 of the Admission to Primary School Booklet which you can download below.
