  3. Terms and conditions of resident parking schemes

Unless you are a blue badge holder, you need a parking permit to park in certain residential areas.

You can apply for a resident (vehicle specific) permit, or a visitor permit, which can be used in any vehicle. If a visitor permit is lost, stolen, or damaged a replacement can be issued for the cost of an extra permit.

Cost of first permit:

  • £12.50 for 6 months
  • £17.50 for 12 months

Extra permits cost:

  • £25.00 for 6 months
  • £35.00 for 12 months

You can apply for up to three permits per household for the Wellgate zone. Permits for the Hospital zone, Boston Castle and Eastwood South zones are limited to two per household.

All the required documents, including V5C’s or proof of residence can be submitted online as part of the application.

Once we have received your online application, we will review and verify the information you have provided and, if approved, you will receive an email confirmation with a link to make payment. Once payment has been received, your permit(s) will be delivered.

Please also be aware that permits for the Wellgate scheme will no longer be issued annually from 1st November 2022. Any new permit will be valid for either a twelve or six month period from the date your permit is granted.

Lost visitor permits can be replaced at the cost of a second permit. Lost vehicle specific permits can be replaced free of charge.
