Winter Gritting
During the winter months, our teams are on standby in case of bad weather.
Gritting involves an overnight grit of 388 miles of the boroughs busiest road network. Each round takes around three hours for each of our ten gritters to complete.
On street grit bins are monitored and topped up where necessary to help volunteers grit the local community.
Concerned about a rough sleeper?
If you’re concerned about someone sleeping rough in our borough, you can report them to us by phoning 01709 336009 or emailing Housingsolutionsteam@rotherham.gov.uk between 8:30am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
