Getting Help with the Rising Cost of Living

Many people are having difficulties due to the rising cost of living. You might not realise you're entitled to some help.

Energy Crisis Support Scheme

From the 8th of January 2024, the Council’s Energy Crisis Support Scheme provides a payment of up to £250 to households struggling to meet the costs of their energy bills as a result of the significant rise in energy costs.

This is the 3rd Energy Crisis Support Scheme available for Rotherham residents from the Household Support Fund (HSF). The funding for HSF3 is being provided by the Department for Work and Pensions. 

Any applications submitted previously will be processed in accordance with the scheme conditions.

Open Arms Community Support Hubs

RotherFed are offering new community-based drop-in session through the Open Arms Community Support Hubs. 

A range of local voluntary and community groups, including RotherFed, Citizens Advice, Laser Credit Union, and Voluntary Action Rotherham, have partnered to develop and deliver a co-ordinated response to support communities most affected by the cost of living crisis.
