In addition to the Council providing support to the Armed Forces community there are a plethora of military charities representing both large, national organisations and smaller local specialists. All of them bring a wealth of expertise and are truly committed to helping those that are serving / have served and their families.

PROJECT NOVA

Project Nova supports Veterans who have been arrested and enter Police Custody. It also supports Veterans who are referred by specialist Police Teams, or other statutory organisations, because they are at risk of arrest or have vulnerabilities. Project Nova works in partnership with Police Forces and NHS Liaison and Diversion who refer veterans to their service. Veterans meeting this criteria can also self-refer.

HELP 4 HOMELESS VETERANS

Their mission is to source and provide accommodation to Ex Service Personnel who are living rough or in unsatisfactory accommodation.

Provides lifelong support to anyone who is currently serving or has ever served in the Royal Navy, British Army or Royal Air Force.

UNIVERSAL CREDIT

Universal Credit is a payment to help with your living costs. It’s paid monthly. You may be able to get it if you’re on a low income, out of work or you cannot work. You can check your entitlement.
