Retail Discount

Retail Hospitality and Leisure Discount 2025/26

At the Autumn Budget on 30 October 2024, the Chancellor announced the continuation of the Retail Discount scheme whereby eligible ratepayers will receive 40% relief on their business rates bills for the year 2025/26 up to a maximum cash cap of £110,000.

To claim the relief, the ratepayer must not have exceeded either the £110,000 cash cap for 2025 to 2026 or the Minimal Financial Assistance limit under the Subsidy Control Act of £315,000 over 3 years, including 2025 to 2026.

As part of the temporary measures, businesses have the option to refuse the additional discount. However, this request must be in writing. If you wish to do so, please contact using the make an enquiry section.

At the Autumn Statement on 22 November 2023, the Chancellor announced the extension of the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure scheme. The statement revealed that eligible ratepayers will receive 75% relief on their business rates bills for the year 2024 to 2025 up to a maximum cash cap of £110,000.

To claim the relief, the ratepayer must not have exceeded either the £110,000 cash cap for 2024 to 2025 or the Minimal Financial Assistance limit under the Subsidy Control Act of £315,000 over 3 years, including 2024 to 2025.

To claim the relief the ratepayer must not have exceeded either the £110,000 cash cap for 2023/24 or the Minimal Financial Assistance limit under the Subsidy Control Act of £315,000 over 3 years, including 2023 to 2024.
