Finding a Shared Lives Carer

In this section

  1. You are here: Finding a Shared Lives Carer
  2. What you can do with a Shared Lives Carer
  3. Your Shared Lives stories

To find a Shared Lives Carer, your assessor will need to make a referral for you. They will also need to do an assessment about your needs.

Once this has been done they will talk to the Shared Lives team about a possible carer to support you.

Matching

Shared Lives is about being part of a family, making new friends and accessing the community.

We will look to see if we have a match for you with one of our Shared Lives Carers who enjoy the same things you do, this means you can do fun things together.

They get training on how to be a Shared Lives carer and how to keep people safe.

After you start you can change your mind at any time and choose not to continue. Someone from the Shared Lives service will check everything is working well.
