Ward plan
Providing vibrant, connected and safe neighbourhoods is a priority for Rotherham Council and communities are at the heart of everything we do. Dinnington Ward Councillors were elected to listen to your views and work with you to make a difference in the local community.
We know many of our residents are passionate about making their community a better place to live and we are here to work in partnership and make these improvements a reality. Councillors used a range of information – listening to local residents and council staff, looking at statistics and other data – to develop these ward priorities:
Dinnington Ward priorities
Priority 1: Improve the local environment
- Community Clean Days
- Litter picking
- Replace broken street furniture and invest in new where required
- Grounds maintenance (hedge trimming and grass cutting etc)
- Support wildflower planting schemes within the ward
- Ensure litterbins are well maintained and emptied in a timely manner
Priority 2: Support crime prevention strategies and target anti-social behaviour in hotspot areas
- Dinnington Market and Interchange
- Communities should feel empowered to help improve their local area through reporting
Priority 3: Back initiatives to improve the built environment and the local economy
- Improvements to Dinnington Town Centre and new developments
- Identify opportunities to engage with local small businesses
Priority 4: To support improvements to highway maintenance
- To encourage residents to report issues
- Raise awareness of the different ways to report issues to the Council
Priority 5: To support and develop initiatives to improve wellbeing
- Help residents with cost of living support including access to advice, guidance and budgeting
