To issue a copy death certificate, we will need the deceased's:

  • Full name
  • Date of death
  • Age at death or date of birth
  • Place of death (for example, name of nursing home or hospital)
  • Home address, if different from place of death
  • Occupation

The cost for each non-urgent certificate is £11. The national target for issuing non-urgent certificates is 15 working days from the date of request.

The Registration Service recommends that applicants opt for Royal Mail’s ‘Signed For’ postage at a cost of £2 per order. Where customers opt for standard postage there is no additional charge.

If you require a certificate urgently there is a statutory fee of £35 payable and you will need to telephone the registration service on 01709 823542 to request this service.

If you have not received your certificate, please only contact the service if you have not received your certificates 20 working days after placing your order.
