Ward plan

Providing vibrant, connected and safe neighbourhoods is a priority for Rotherham Council and communities are at the heart of everything we do.  Rawmarsh East Ward Councillors were elected to listen to your views and work with you to make a difference in the local community.

We know many of our residents are passionate about making their community a better place to live and we are here to work in partnership and make these improvements a reality.  Councillors used a range of information – listening to local residents and council staff, looking at statistics and other data – to develop these ward priorities:

Rawmarsh East Ward priorities

Priority 1: Improving the physical environment

  • Tackle hotspot areas suffering from fly-tipping and littering
  • Support initiatives that improve the look of the area
  • Towns and Villages Fund
  • Clean up of Rawmarsh Cenotaph

 

Priority 2: Celebration of Parkgate 200 Year Anniversary 

  • Series of community events throughout the year to celebrate the Parkgate 200 Year anniversary
  • Support Rawmarsh and Parkgate Local History Group activities

 

PRIORITY 3: FACILITIES AND ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE

  • Expand range of activities of young people
  • Education projects including encouraging young people to read
  • Improve physical and mental health and well-being

 

PRIORITY 4: EXPLORE OPPORTUNITIES TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH AND WELLBEING OF LOCAL RESIDENTS

  • Identify projects that aim to improve mental health and wellbeing
  • Support activities that promote physical activities
  • Provide advice and information on energy saving and cost of living crisis

 

PRIORITY 5: TACKLING CRIME AND ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR

  • Support partnership working initiatives that make people feel safe where they live or work
  • Create initiatives that address issues in hotspot areas
