Bellows Road Bus Priority Improvements

  2. The proposed changes

Background

The Council is proposing improvements to the junction between Bellows Road and Rawmarsh High Street. These changes aim to make it easier for buses to emerge from Bellows Road.

As part of the Council’s ongoing plans to reduce harmful nitrogen dioxide levels produced by large diesel vehicles, there is a plan to divert some of the existing bus services away from Rawmarsh Hill to Barbers Avenue. The Council has previously consulted on these proposals as part of the broader Clean Air Consultation in 2019.

See here for the previous consultation and the results

This consultation relates only to highway works to facilitate diverted services – the diversion of services themselves will be subject to further public engagement later in 2021.
