Background

This Consulatation is now closed

The Licensing Act 2003 requires Councils to prepare and publish a “Statement of Licensing Policy”.  The Statement of Licensing Policy sets out the Council’s approach to making licensing decisions, and provides advice and guidance to applicants, businesses and members of the public in relation to:

  • the prevention of crime and disorder
  • public safety
  • the prevention of public nuisance
  • the protection of children from harm

These are known as the "licensing objectives".
