Council Meetings and Committees

As well as Full Council, Councillors also sit on committees that hold regular meetings. Committees usually consider a specific area of Council business such as planning or licensing. They can also make many decisions without further approval from Full Council. You can see a diagram of our committee structure on the next page.

Three separate functions sit underneath Full Council and the executive and regulatory functions are decision making committees. In contrast, the scrutiny function does not make direct decisions but will make recommendations to the Executive and to Council.
