About Smart Access Libraries
Smart Access means that library members are able to use their library card to access the building outside of staffed hours.
When the library is unstaffed, the Smart library system will control the lighting, alarms, doors, and computer equipment.
Current Smart Access Libraries
The following libraries are Smart Access Libraries:
- Location: Mowbray Gardens Library and Neighbourhood Hub
Regular opening hours: Wednesday 9am-5pm
What is available during Smart Access Hours
During Smart Access hours, Smart Library members can:
- borrow, return and renew library books using the self-service kiosks
- pay charges using the self-service kiosks
- pick up and borrow reserved items awaiting collection
- use public computers, print and access Wi-Fi
- access the public library catalogue
- meet as a group free of charge in the open library space
When in Smart Library mode, staff are not on site to help with the computers, answer enquiries about books and other library resources or provide general information, but you'll still be able to do all the above.
