Access to Smart Access libraries
Who can use Smart Access libraries
Smart Library membership is available to any member who:
- is 18 and over
- have held a valid library card for a minimum of 3 months
Young people under 18 can still access the library during self-access times if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18.
Book groups and other community groups (such as ‘Knit and knatter’, craft clubs, writers groups) are also able to use the library at these times.
How to gain Smart Access
Existing library members who want to make use of Self Access opening hours need to complete:
- an application form
- a short induction.
This can be done online, and access will be confirmed within 10 working days.
Please note: If your library card has expired, then you will not be able to access the library in Smart Mode. It is recommended that you check with your local library that your membership is up to date before applying.
