What can be added to a community alarm?
Assistive living technology is a range of devices or systems that can help you to live independently in your home.
Find out more about Assistive Technology
A wide range of assistive technology can be linked to the monitoring centre, to family and friends or to other technology devices in the home.
Environmental and personal sensors can be used to monitor your safety and well-being and assist you with your daily activity.
- Environmental sensors include smoke, carbon monoxide, flood and temperature sensors.
- Personal sensors include fall detectors, motion detectors and location trackers.
Sensors can raise an alert without you needing to do anything and some types of assistive technology can be used so you can summon help if you require assistance.
The Council has agreed an arrangement with Medequip Connect - a Technology Enabled Care Service – to provide our assistive technology.
The Council’s Rothercare service will refer you to Medequip Connect if you would like them to. Medequip Connect will visit your home to assess your needs and to find out which assistive technology solutions might be best for you. They will supply and fit your assistive technology and will collect the equipment at a later date if no longer required.
