Apply for a dropped kerb

Before you apply, If you do not own your home or the land it is on, you must get permission from the property owner before applying.

To apply for a dropped kerb please download and complete the below form:

Apply for a dropped kerb on a private or council owned property

Before you apply

If you live in a council-owned property you must provide:

  • a copy of the letter titled Conditional approval, showing council approval for a hard standing or driveway

If you live in a privately owned property you must provide:

  • an approval reference number to show you have planning permission, if your property is on a classified A, B or C road

If you're not sure whether your road is classified, check using Find My Address.

Using your own contractor

If you choose a contractor who is not listed in the form, you must provide:

  • copies of the contractor’s Street Works Qualification Register (SWQR) cards for both the operative and the supervisor
  • the contractor’s name, address, phone number and email address
  • proof of the contractor’s public liability insurance, with cover of at least £5 million
