Purpose of this youth work funding

We want to expand and develop the universal offer for young people across the borough (Rotherham) by providing things to do and places to go. Promoting the personal, educational, creative, and social developments young people.

Youth clubs and activities to be established in local areas at low or no cost to enable maximum attendance and reach.

All activities and sessions should be inclusive, with consideration should be given to different age ranges, abilities and backgrounds so that curriculum activities are appropriate and culturally sensitive and relevant.

Clubs must provide fun and enriching activities that provide children with opportunities to develop new skills or knowledge, to consolidate existing skills and knowledge, or to safely try out new experiences with trusted adults and their peers.

This could include physical activities such as football, table tennis, cricket, and creative activities such as music making, arts, putting on a play, junk modelling, drumming workshops; or experiences such as a nature walk, or visiting a local park etc.

Providers should consider how to deliver a rich and varied mix of fun and enriching activities which are age appropriate and reflect the demographics of the local community.
