Relief for Local Newspapers

A business rates relief for local newpapers was introduced by the Government with effect from 1 April 2017 for a period of three years. The relief provides a £1,500 discount for office space occupied by local newspapers. This is limited to one discount per local newspaper and per property. The Government has confirmed that relief will continue for a further five years until 31 March 2025.
