Education advice for kinship carers
The Virtual School Headteacher is a champion the attendance, attainment, and progress of all children in care, whether that is informal or formal care.
They are here to:
- Ensure children are in the right school and are making progress
- Provide training and share effective practice with schools, carers and social workers
- Monitor the progress, attainment, attendance and exclusion of looked after children
Families who have taken in a child through a kinship arrangement or those with a Special Guardianship or Child Arrangements Order can get advice and information from the Virtual School about the education system. This is regardless of whether or not your child was previously in care with the Council.
