Re-registration of a birth to add a natural father
A birth can be re-registered to add the natural father’s details if he was not present for the initial registration where the parents are unmarried.
A re-registration application needs to be completed and brought to our Register Office along with a full birth certificate for the child/ children requiring re-registration.
Re-registrations are done by appointment only and you will need to contact our Register Office on (01709) 823542 to make an appointment, both parents will need to attend unless the re-registration application includes a statutory declaration from the absent parent – in this case please discuss further with the register office when making the appointment.
