The new Special Educational Needs and Disabilities strategy
A newly updated Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) strategy document has been drafted for 2024.
We worked in partnership with parents, carers, children and young people and professionals to identify the 6 priorities that this strategy is structured around.
- Priority 1: I have a voice, and this is listened to and respected.
- Priority 2: I have help and support in a way that suits me
- Priority 3: I am supported to be as independent as possible and have a purposeful life.
- Priority 4: I am as healthy as possible.
- Priority 5: I have adults in my life who are supported to help me.
- Priority 6: I belong and feel valued.
The other pages in this section cover each priority in more detail.
How you can help us
Help us to validate the planned strategy by providing your feedback on Our Vision and the 6 key priorities that form the SEND strategy.
This consultation will run from the 2nd of September until the 20th of October 2024. After the consultation ends, we will review all comments and use this information to amend the SEND strategy.
The final amended SEND strategy will return to the full council for approval in February 2025.
