Leaseholder Rights and Responsibilities

Rights and responsibilities

In general, the leaseholder is responsible for the maintenance and repair of anything within the property. This includes pipes and cables as soon as they pass through the walls and the internal plasterwork. The Council is then responsible for the exterior structure of your property.

The summary below identifies the responsibility for a number of common property repairs, but should not be considered an exhaustive list.
