Short term care

Home enabling

The Home Enabling service is for adults aged 18 years and over who require support at home to maintain their independence and stay safe.

The Home Enabling service is designed to encourage and support people to gradually be able to carry out their personal care needs and tasks around the home on their own without any or little help.

The service is available and free of charge for up to six weeks.

If the customer requires continued home care support after this period they will need to have a care assessment, a financial assessment and be referred to home care. This service may be chargeable.

The Home Enabling service is only accessible via a referral from Single Point of Access (formerly Assessment Direct), Community Rehabilitation therapy or discharge from hospital.
