Homelessness: Advice for social housing tenants

Housing association tenants

If you have received written notice that your landlord intends to evict you, then it is important that you contact your landlord. If you are in arrears, you may be able to set up a payment plan. If the eviction is because of anti-social behaviour, then your landlord might be able to discuss this with you. They may be able to work with you to ensure that you stay in your home.

If you are having issues in your home, which could be repairs, anti-social behaviour or pests, you should discuss these with your landlord so they can try and resolve any issues you have.

If you are a housing association tenant and you decide to end your tenancy, before approaching us for assistance, we may not be able to assist you, as you could have made yourself intentionally homeless. It is important that you speak to the Homeless Team before you make any decisions, who can offer advice and assistance.
