Areas Subject to Selective Licensing

Rotherham has made six designations for selective licensing which commence in February 2026.

The areas under the Designations are parts of:

  • Town centre / Eastwood / Clifton / Boston Castle
  • Masbrough / Kimberworth
  • Thurcroft
  • Dinnington
  • Brinsworth
  • Parkgate

The designations will come into force on 15 February 2026 and will normally last for 5 years. Private Landlords who are not exempt from selective licensing, must hold a licence for the 2026 to 2031 scheme from this date or they commit an offence.

The boundaries of each designation are illustrated below. An interactive map which will allow more detailed interrogation will be available shortly.
