Fluorescent tubes

Fluorescent tubes and low energy light bulbs contain toxic metals and are classed as hazardous waste. You should not break them as this releases pollutants.

You can take small amounts of fluorescent tubes and low energy light bulbs to any Household Waste Recycling Centre, where there is a special area provided.

For larger amounts, you should contact a commercial waste disposal company.
