Child arrangements order
A child arrangements order (CAO) is a legal order made by the family court that outlines where a child will live, who a child can spend time with and how long for. It can also state when a child will spend part of the week living with, or having contact with, a parent or other family member.
To care for a kinship child through a Child Arrangements Order, an application must be made to family court.
Only a court can make Child Arrangements Orders, and it may require a report explaining more about you and your kinship child before it does so.
