Hollowgate Supported Accommodation
Hollowgate is a supported accommodation service for care leavers. It has 9 self‑contained flats and provides a safe, supportive place to help you move from care into independent living.
Each flat has meter‑based utilities, which helps you learn how to manage your bills. You will also work with staff to build your household skills and confidence.
If you live at Hollowgate, you will have a key worker who supports you with:
- budgeting and managing your utilities
- accessing education, training or employment
- help with benefits, letters and other correspondence
- developing independent living skills
- preparing for long‑term housing
Hollowgate Dispersed Accommodation
Hollowgate also manages a small number of council‑owned dispersed properties. These are for care leavers who are ready to live more independently but still want support.
Living in dispersed accommodation helps you gain experience managing your own tenancy, with staff available when you need them.
When you can show that you can manage your tenancy well, you can:
- apply for priority status through Key Choices and start bidding on properties
- ask to stay in your current accommodation — if it is suitable, the tenancy may be transferred to you
You will also receive three months of tenancy support after you move into a permanent home.
