Withdrawing your complaint

You can ask to withdraw your complaint at any time before the Standards and Ethics Committee has made a decision on it.

The Standards and Ethics Committee will decide whether to accept the request. The committee may not accept your request, and will consider:

  • Whether the public interest in taking action on the complaint is greater than your request to withdraw it
  • Whether any action could be taken without your involvement
  • Is there a reason why you have asked to withdraw the complaint. For example, pressure from the member you have complained about
