Feeling unsafe at your home?

If you feel that you have no choice but to leave your home because someone is being violent or abusive towards you, you need to speak to our team straight away.

Call the police on 999 as soon as possible if you or your children are in immediate danger, or you or your children are at risk of injury or are already injured.

Call the police on 101 if you or your children are feeling threatened but are not in immediate danger.

If you are suffering from domestic abuse, then you can approach any local authority for assistance as well as use our dedicated webpage which has different support links.

There are a number of organisations that can assist you if you do not feel safe in your home, some of these are listed below:

  • Childline
  • Woman's Aid 
  • Shelter
  • Previous page: Not married or in a civil relationship (co-habiting)

Contact the Homeless team

If you need any further advice or assistance, please get in touch. Our opening hours are 8:30am to 5pm Monday to Friday. The Homeless out of hours service is available from 6pm to 8am Monday to Friday and 24 hours during the weekend and bank holidays. If you are not in emergency need or homeless tonight, please contact the homeless team online.
