Improving Rotherham's leisure economy and skills

Leisure Economy and skills

The Council have successfully secured investment to help improve the leisure economy and skills in the borough by 2024.

The investment includes funding for improvements to the Grade I listed stable block at Wentworth Woodhouse, a new café at Thrybergh Country Park, modernised exhibitions at Magna plus upgrades to facilities and a new hospitality offer at Rother Valley Country Park.

The skills package will strengthen the local economy through the creation of Skills Street at Gullivers Resort focusing on training, development and accreditation within the hospitality and leisure sector, and an incubator space for Post-16 education, apprenticeships and start up support at the former Maltby Grammar School.
