Neighbourhood & Community Standard

Tenant satisfaction measures

  • The landlord keeps communal areas clean and well maintained
  • The landlord makes a positive contribution to neighbourhoods
  • Satisfaction with the landlord's approach to handling anti-social behaviour

Key achievements

  • Partners from the Council and Voluntary Sector worked with tenants to establish new or improve community assets.. For example, the Towns and Villages Fund scheme in East Herringthorpe led to the creating of a new community garden, along with a range of other improvements such as a new paving and CCTV installation to deter anti-social behaviour. This has transformed the previously disused area outside Ridgeway Stares.
  • Ward Councillors have supported a range of local community organisations. This includes Sunnyside Supplies community group who provide a Social Supermarket and Community Cafe. This essential service is providing healthy, affordable groceries, a range of valuable volunteer roles and much-needed place to come together for those who are lonely or socially isolated, including single-parents and older people.
