There will also be tours from 11.00am until 1.00pm on one Thursday per month.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

The pre-booked tours are £5.50 per person per tour.

HOW DO I BOOK A TOUR?

Tours can be booked through an online booking system which can be accessed here at Historic tours at Keppel's Column (ticketsolve.com)

HOW ACCESSIBLE IS THE TOUR?

The tour includes climbing 217 steps and 4 landing areas to reach the viewing platform. Each visitor must be able to comfortably and independently climb and ascend the steps as part of an organised tour.

Check the terms and conditions here

For those of you who are unable to access the viewing platform, a film has been created showing the inside of the column and is available here.

IS CAR PARKING AVAILABLE ON SITE?

Access to Keppel’s Column is through Admirals Crest and there is limited parking on site.

CAN CHILDREN ATTEND THE TOUR?

Due to the height and confined spaces in the building, only children over the age of 13 years old can attend a tour.

HOW DO I BOOK A TOUR?

Tours must be booked in advance using the online booking system which can be accessed through the Keppel’s Column page on the Rotherham Civic Theatre website  and Clifton Park Museum Facebook page. All tickets must be paid for in advance and will be released at regular intervals throughout the year.

CAN I CANCEL MY BOOKING?

Tickets cannot be amended after booking. Tour tickets are not transferable and non-refundable.

WHAT HAPPENS IN HEAVY CONTINUOUS RAIN AND WINDY WEATHER?

Due to the height and exposure of the viewing platform, the tours cannot go ahead in continuous heavy rain, snow or wind speeds above 19 MPH. Staff will monitor the weather conditions prior to the tour taking place and decide if the tour can go ahead. If we need to cancel the tour due to weather conditions, you will be notified as soon as possible by telephone.
Full refunds will be given.

WHY DO I NEED TO WEAR A HARD HAT DURING MY VISIT?

As a health and safety requirement, hard hats will need to be worn throughout the tour.
These will be provided when you arrive.
As Keppel’s Column is an old building with exposed brickwork, there is a risk that small amounts of debris may fall.

CAN I TAKE PHOTOS THROUGHOUT MY VISIT?

During the ascend and descend of the column, we require you to have your hands free to ease your climb. You are welcome to take photos in the Passing Place and on the viewing platform.
