Five-year housing land supply
The Council is required by the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) to identify and update annually a supply of specific deliverable sites sufficient to provide five years’ worth of housing land against its housing requirements. The latest position statement covers the five-year period from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2030 reflecting the results of the revised standard method for calculating local housing need, released by Government on 12 December 2024. It concludes that the Council can currently identify 4.4 years’ supply.
