About the garden waste service
Our garden waste (brown bin) service lets Rotherham residents have their garden waste collected from the kerbside all year round. Garden Waste collections are optional to residents and alternative arrangements such as home composting or making use of the Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC) may be more suitable for some people.
With our garden waste service, you will be provided with a wheeled bin the same size as your black/green recycling bins. Your bin will be emptied fortnightly for most of the year, dropping to monthly over the winter.
To get your brown bin emptied, leave it at the kerbside by 7am on your collection day. We recommend storing garden waste (brown) bins securely between collections, as the permits are valuable.
