Safeguarding concerns
If you are worried about the safety of your kinship child or another child, you can report these concerns or call for advice and guidance from our MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub) on 01709 336080 or use the online form to Report a concern about a child or young person.
Foundations
Foundations, commissioned by the Department for Education, creates practice guides on kinship support. They also offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for kinship carers, especially those feeling stressed or struggling with children’s emotions and behaviours.
Talking Therapies
RDaSH offer talking therapies in person, in groups and online for adults who are feeling low, anxious or overwhelmed. This includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Anna Freud Centre
The Anne Freud Centre has resources for parents and carers on self-care and a 24/7 crisis messenger for anyone struggling to cope.

Qwell
Free, safe, and anonymous mental health support for Rotherham adults (18+). Access helpful articles, local resources, self-care tips, and online chat with a mental health practitioner.
Special Guardians Facebook Group
Supports Special Guardians who get statutory support from Rotherham Council. If the child was looked after in Rotherham before the Special Guardianship Order (SGO), Rotherham provides support for 3 years—even if you move. If the child was looked after elsewhere, that area supports you for 3 years, then Rotherham takes over if you live here.
