Our Places Fund Phase Two Consultation
The Council has reaffirmed its commitment to keep every neighbourhood thriving by approving major investment in local areas as part of the Our Places Fund.
Borough-wide consultation with residents in October and November 2024 identified key priorities for improvement. This included enhancing the surroundings of cenotaphs and memorials and upgrading public spaces to make them more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
Development of Our Places Fund Phase One is currently underway which includes schemes in Maltby and Swinton.
Our Places Fund Phase Two improvements will focus on the following areas:
- Honouring Rotherham’s history and heritage, areas around cenotaphs, memorials and monuments in Greasbrough, Dinnington, Treeton, Wentworth and Thrybergh will be improved.
- Swallownest - Public space upgrades on Gray Avenue (off Mason Avenue).
- Rawmarsh and Parkgate - Various locations across High Street and Haugh Road in Rawmarsh and Broad Street in Parkgate will benefit from public space improvements.
