Treeton

We are seeking your input for ways to renew the Men of Treeton War Memorial, located on Station Road (B6067). This plan shows examples of how the space could be improved.

Treeton Cenotaph

Potential intervention 1

The current layout forms a barrier between the war memorial and the wider path, via a short stone wall and railings. There is opportunity to improve connectivity by creating paths to the monument. To complement the memorial, there is further potential for decorative planting and resurfacing.

Existing

A black gate as a barrier around the Cenotaph.

Example of improvement

Potential intervention 2

Potential improvements could include replacing the existing benches and including extra seating.

Example of improvement

A new wooden bench with black footings.

Potential intervention 3

Subject to agreement of running costs and budget, there could be an option to include lighting of the memorial, through ground lights or illuminated bollards.

Examples of improvements

A spotlight shown in the floor with grey stone slabs around it

A night time photo of black lighting pillars lining a path

Potential intervention 4

To complement the memorial, there is an opportunity to enhance the existing trees through bulb planting (flowering from early spring to autumn).

Example of improvement

A flowerbed shown with colourful flowers.
