Knowledge Test and Safeguarding Awareness
All drivers must pass a driver knowledge test and a safeguarding course as part of the application process.
Before you book a test you must have knowledge of rotherham Council's Hackney Carriage and Private Hire licensing Policy.
This test will assess the your knowledge and ability in relation to:
- Literacy and numeracy
- Child and adult safeguarding awareness
- Disability awareness
- Road Safety versus Basic vehicle maintenance
- Customer care and customer awareness
- Local knowledge
You should have a good knowledge of the Rotherham borough and be able to use and A-Z map of the area.
This is a written test and you will need to be able to answer question in writing and in English.
You must produce photographic ID each time you attend for a test. We will check your identification to ensure that you are the person who is booked to attend the test.
Safeguarding Awareness
All drivers will need to take an awareness raising session on safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
