Medical Assessment
The Council requires Group 2 Standards of Medical Fitness as applied by the DVLA.
Your GP must conduct a medical examination and review your medical history. They will complete a medical examination form, to confirm that you meet the group 2 standards.
There will be a fee for this examination and this should be paid to the GP.
A new medical will then be required every five years thereafter.
On reaching the age of 65 a new medical will be required annually and a licence will only be issued for a period of 1 year.
The Council may also request a medical at any other time it feels may be necessary to establish a person still meets the group 2 standard.
