For advice and guidance on planning applications there is a charge.
The Council is committed to an efficient and effective planning service, and we welcome discussions about your plans at an early stage.
We can provide pre-application advice and guidance on a range of projects, from householders wishing to alter or extend their home to major regeneration projects.
Some alterations and extensions to residential properties do not need planning permission. The Planning Portal offers guidance on common building projects and building regulations, such as:
- House extensions
- Conservatories
- Outbuildings
- Fences, walls and gates
- Solar panels
- Decking
- Patio and driveways
- Paving and front gardens
- Garage conversions
- Loft conversions
- Roof alterations
