Dinnington Neighbourhood Plan

Status: Adopted as part of Rotherham's Development Plan

Following a successful Referendum, the Dinnington St John’s Neighbourhood Plan was 'made' by the Council on 26 May 2021 when it was adopted as part of Rotherham’s Development Plan. The Local Planning Authority decision statement is published below:

Submission of the Dinnington St John's neighbourhood plan

Dinnington St John's Town Council submitted its draft Neighbourhood Development Plan to Rotherham Borough Council on 18 September 2019. These files above may not be suitable for users of assistive technology.

The Council undertook consultation on the submission documents (as required by Regulation 16 of The Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended)) between between 7 November and 20 December 2019. A statement of representations procedure was published setting out the documents submitted by the qualifying body, where they could be inspected, and how comments could be submitted.

Mr Terry Heselton BA (Hons), Dip TP, MRTPI was appointed as Examiner to conduct the examination of the Dinnington Neighbourhood Plan and publish a Report with recommendations. The report of the Independent Examination was produced on 27 March 2020.

The report of the Independent Examination of the Dinnington St John’s Neighbourhood Plan was considered by the Local Planning Authority. All the recommendations of the independent examiner were accepted. The Local Planning Authority recommended that the Neighbourhood Plan should proceed to a Referendum based on the Neighbourhood Area as approved by the Council (Dinnington St John’s Civil Parish boundary). 

The Neighbourhood Planning Referendum was held on the 6 May 2021 and more than half of those who voted have voted in favour of the Dinnington St John’s Neighbourhood Plan.
