At least once every four years a member of your Area Housing Team will check in with you, to see how you have settled into your tenancy and how you are doing.
For some Tenants, we may visit more than once every four years, for example, if you live in one of our high rise flats we will visit at least once per year, and if you are in need of extra support we may adjust the number of visits to best support you.
Some of the things your housing officer will check:
- who is living at the property
- the condition of the property
- the property is not being used for anything that breaches your tenancy agreement
- that your details are up to date
- you are aware of the support available to you
- what support you may need
The Tenancy Health check is an opportunity for you to:
- ask for advice about your tenancy
- raise concerns about your property
- ask about support that may be available
- give your feedback
- find out how to have your say in how Council services are run
We will send you a letter between two and four weeks before the Tenancy Health check, and if you need to re arrange your appointment, details on how to get in contact to re arrange the appointment will be on the letter issued.
If you require your appointment to be re arranged to have a third-party present, we will work with you to arrange this. Absolute Advocacy offer a service in Rotherham if you would like someone to help support and represent you.

All our Area Housing officers will be wearing Identity Badges, and you are welcome to ask to see staff ID before letting them into your home.
