Carer Support Groups

Funding Awarded to Voluntary Sector Organisations to Support Unpaid Carers

During the summer in 2023, small grants were awarded to voluntary community based services in Rotherham.

The funding is supporting projects that improve the health and wellbeing of unpaid carers throughout the Borough and is in place until the end of March 2024.

Funding was awarded to the groups listed below, please contact them if you wish to take part (the majority can be found on Rotherham Gismo):

Activate Rawmarsh: The Parent/Carer Social Support Club

Funding will provide coffee mornings, a walking club and socially active exercise classes for parent carers and is open to current members.

Funding will provide weekly exercise classes for unpaid carers and is open to all unpaid carers.

Funding will provide monthly social peer group support with organised events and is open to all unpaid carers who support a brain injury survivor.

The funding will provide weekly low impact exercise classes for carers of people with dementia and is open to all unpaid carers of people with dementia.

Rotherham Living Independently for Everyone (Life) Group: Carers First Project

The funding will provide weekly support sessions for carers to take part in low impact exercise and cooking classes and is open to all female BAME unpaid carers.
