Training For Carers

The Adult Care Housing and Public Health Learning and Development Team supports access to learning and development opportunities for Carers in Rotherham.

There are a wide variety of learning events for you to access, completely free of charge, to support you in your caring role.

  • Mental Capacity Act Awareness for Carers on Thursday 8th February 2024 from 10am whilst 1pm
  • Unpaid Carers - Caring for yourself on Wednesday 28th February 2024 from 1pm whilst 3pm
  • Advanced Care Planning and Lasting Power of Attorney on Tuesday 19th March 2024 from 1pm whilst 3pm

All of thse opportunities are hosted at Rockingham Professional Development Centre.

The training offer has been has been recommended by Skills for Care. You are entitled to access all of the course detailed below free of charge.

Health Related Training

We also work offer a range of health-specific training as identified by carers. These could include Diabetes, Tissue Viability, Continence, Mouth Care etc.

Bite-Sized Courses

A range of bite-sized courses, delivered over 2 hours, can be organised on essential topics to support you in your caring role.

Distance Learning is a very flexible way to learn at your own pace, in your own time and achieve a nationally recognised qualification at level 2 or 3. As a carer you can also access the following distance learning courses free of charge:
