A guide to marriages and civil partnerships
You can get married or enter into a civil partnership in the UK if you are:
- Age 18 or over
- Free to marry, or form a civil partnership (single, divorced or widowed)
- Not closely related to your partner by blood, marriage, civil partnership adoption or surrogacy
- European Union Settlement Status as pending, settled or pre-settled
- Have appropriate immigration documentation for marriage or civil partnership if you are a foreign national subject to immigration control
